The New Horizons Band in the Pines is exceptionally fortunate to have a Professional Director who provides expertise in teaching & conducting.

Mollie Wilson

Mollie Wilson was a band and drama director in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania for more than thirty years before retiring to Aberdeen. She is a member of the Moore County Community Band, the SCC Jazz Band, and the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Choir. Also, she is the leader of the Well-Seasoned Singers, a women’s sextet which sings for various charities, churches, and events in the area.

In addition to musical activities, Mollie is the proprietor of Pine Gables of Aberdeen, a Victorian Bed and Breakfast in historic Aberdeen, and she serves on the town’s historic commission.

In Memoriam…Dr. Robert Romine

Professor Emeritus, UNC Pembroke.  Dr. Romine served as chair of UNCP’s Music Department and was its band director from 1974 through 1996.
He was inducted into the North Carolina Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame in 2012. He is also active in the Moore County Community Band and the SCC Jazz Band.
